“blah blah”
Often describing her personal style as ‘conservative with a touch of irreverence’ Lauren Remington Pratt began her career as a research analyst for a hedge fund after graduating from Columbia University in 2006. While working in finance, Lauren stumbled onto a problem: before after-work events she found herself rushing to get her makeup done, sometimes even running across the street to a ‘hole in the wall salon’ to get her hair done if she was lucky.
“I created this company because I really saw a need in the market. It’s not much about product—there’s really great product out there, especially when you reach a certain price point—it’s about service.”
A combination of Place Vendôme in Paris and beauty icon Marie Antoinette, Vênsette is a membership website which employs fashion week-caliber hair and makeup stylists to provide women with cocktail-ready looks for their after-hours obligations. Lauren draws inspiration for her hair and makeup ‘menu’ from classic beauties such as Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
“The concept of the Salon is antiquated. Who has time to run around New York for a beauty appointment?”
Lauren enjoys spending time with her family in New Jersey and staying up all night watching episodes of “Law & Order”. Though she is lover of classic Italian fashion labels, she tells us her favorite piece of clothing in her closet is a floor-length military coat by Ralph Lauren (which she has had since she was 17).
