Louve de Nordneg’s French-born and Central St. Martin’s trained designer Sofi Le Garon has gotten creating scarf prints practically down to an art form. “So with my scarves, I hope you can even put one on a wall and look at it, and go into these mysterious worlds or something--like looking at a painting,” she says about her intricate scarves. She first starts by layering objects, dropping them in water sometimes with swirls of jewel-toned ink and photographing her results. A grid pattern is actually a fisherman’s net and a glint of white could be a string of pearls. The photographs are then digitized and manipulated into the abstract prints that bring her scarves to life.
Now working on expanding Louve de Nordneg beyond just scarves--right now, bow ties are already in the mix, but her prints would clearly look amazing on everything from maxi skirts to bathing suits--Sofi and her designs have been featured in publications like Marie Claire and on style personalities like Darren Kennedy since she launched her first collection in 2012.
