About Janet Waddell

“I wanted a product that actually made a difference...here it is!”

Hair guru Janet Waddell snipped and styled her way through global destinations including London, Paris, Milan, Prague, and San Francisco before settling in New York City. The UK-born Waddell started at the iconic Vidal Sassoon Salon in London where she quickly rose through the ranks and started teaching the famed method internationally. She first landed in the US to run San Francisco’s Vidal Sassoon salon and school, but found herself, like many ambitious entrepreneurs before her, drawn to the bright lights of New York. There she worked alongside famed hair stylist John Barrett as his senior stylist and education director at Bergdorf Goodman before opening the doors to her successful, eponymous salon in Gramercy. After being lauded by Allure and Esquire as one of the best haircutters in NYC, Janet’s next natural, yet nonetheless risky step was to flex her entrepreneurial muscles and launch her own brand of hair care products.

Her company Janna World Productions now produces hair products enriched with natural ingredients such as nutrient-rich emu oil, traditionally used in aboriginal Australian medicine. With her line which includes a shampoo, conditioner, and hair balm aptly named Gorgeous, Flawless, and (adding brains to beauty) Genius, Janet has committed her deep breadth of knowledge and experience in the hair industry to bring women the convenience and joy of having the shiny locks everyone wishes they were born with. The truly beautiful thing about Janet's vision, however, is her understanding of women (and men) and the deep-rooted and natural human desire to feel beautiful. Her salon also includes a private Health & Wellness center committed to helping women dealing with issues such as alopecia, hormonal hair loss, or hair loss due to chemotherapy.
