“I believe in 'made in America' - the bags reference a great moment in American fashion and I am paying homage to that period.”

A love for the vintage fashions of the 1950s and 60s inspired Brett Heyman to recreate the chic and soulful character so often found in the designs of high-end predecessor handbags. The sleek lines, Technicolor palettes, and glamorous ornamentation are intricately incorporated into Heyman’s brand, Edie Parker, a collection of glimmering, opalescent clutches. Launched in 2010, the Edie Parker line is entirely handcrafted in America, with each handbag named for a family member or a friend. Heyman creates several color combinations, with the signature look being her crescent, rectangular and square designs of the handbags.

Edie Parker sprang from Heyman’s love of mid-century style. Captivated by the original acrylic creations' slim silhouettes, she began collecting the cherished handbags and researching their long lost designers, makers and original fabrication techniques. When Heyman could no longer find the clutches she coveted at vintage and second-hand shops, she decided it was time to remake them, this time with a modern eye. Her designs have been a hit and have been featured numerous times in publications such as Vogue, Glamour, Vanity Fair, just to name a few. Prior to launching her line, Heyman worked at Gucci, Giorgio Armani, and Dolce & Gabbana. Heyman continues to dream up dazzling looks for her “wearable sculptures” and seize new inspiration from the global metropolis of New York City.
